Everything you want to know
The Crossroads Basketball League is our pilot program and has just completed its 7th season. We have 6 teams playing each season with 8-10 players per team for a total of 48-56 players. Games are currently hosted Sundays 2p-5p to allow for players to enjoy lunch/fellowship after church and have time to get to any family obligations in the evening.
Captains will be required to uphold and enforce all the rules and policies of the Crossroads Basketball League at all times. They will also be expected to assist with various tasks to help keep the league running smoothly, which includes (but is not limited to) the following tasks: opening/closing the gym, communications with teams, scorekeeping, stat tracking, and attend 2 meetings per season. We also encourage them to actively engage and interact with your teams beyond just the games on Sundays.
These rules are in effect as of season 7:
- This is not just a basketball league. By participating, you are expected to help out and build community – it’s not just about coming to play for 40 minutes and then leaving every week
- Everyone will be drafted to a team, and you may elect to be paired with up to 1 friend/family member
- We have a zero tolerance policy for any unsportsmanlike behavior (including but not limited to: aggressive behavior, excessive profanity, arguing with referees, etc.)
- Suspensions will be issued at the discretion of the league commissioner and team captains and are effective immediately
- Players who get suspended will forfeit their league fees
- Suspensions cannot be appealed, but players may petition to rejoin the league the following season
- We cap our league to the 8 players per team
- Any players who sign up after the league is capped out will be placed on a waitlist
These are the current functions and responsibilities of the league
